My Lighthouse – Privacy (English)

What data we collect

  • Account: name, email and profile picture provided by Google or Apple at sign-in, or the name and email you enter if you register with email and password (the password is handled by Firebase: we never see it).
  • Content: the photos you upload, your contest votes, your sky ratings (“How was the sky?”), reports and lighthouse proposals.
  • Personal data in the app: visited lighthouses, favourites and blocked users.
  • Location: only if you allow it, to centre the map, propose a lighthouse or confirm that you are within 2 km of the lighthouse when you rate the sky. It is used at that moment and is not stored.

How we use it

To make the app work: show your photos with your name, count votes, improve sunrise and sunset forecasts with sky ratings, and moderate content. We do not sell data and we do not run ads.

Where it is stored

On Firebase (Google) in Europe. Tides and weather from Open-Meteo and descriptions from Wikipedia are requested anonymously, without personal data.

Your rights

Retention

Data is kept as long as you have an account. Reports and technical logs are kept only for as long as strictly necessary for security.
